Paranormal: Evidence vs. Data PDF Print E-mail
Written by Brian Hendrian

Today's paranormal investigators everywhere have a terrible habit of saying they have found evidence when there isn't such a thing. This word "evidence" is a bad, bad word where mommy should come rushing out and wash your little mouth out with soap. The word evidence is also used frequently in many paranormal tv shows. To the honest paranormal investigator we only find and present data to the public or our clients and to the scientific community we don't have any evidence at all and only have data. Data is something you can dispute in many different ways and evidence is something you can't dispute. If we actually had true evidence that was indisputable, then the scientific community would not mock us anymore and accept us as a true field.

Personal unknown paranormal experiences aren't considered evidence. Unknown paranormal experiences, seen by groups of people or by the masses, aren't considered evidence either. Nothing, to this day, supports that we have captured any type of scientific evidence and all the data that we have collected can be disputed. Also, any and all data found within pictures, video and digital voice recorders are not evidence. If we had evidence, then there wouldn't be any skeptics out there because they would have nothing to dispute. True die hard skeptics would crawl back into their parents basements and find other fields to rip apart and mock. Skeptics are actually good in a way and help us advance forward because the paranormal community wants to prove them wrong.

Our equipment we use, in order to try and find data, is still in its early stages. The majority of our equipment was actually made for other fields or professions, but there is updates being made on each year where the paranormal equipment is slowly advancing. There is very few pieces of equipment that was made specifically for the paranormal field. I had taken a poll a few years ago asking what was considered to be the best piece of equipment. The result from that was the majority agreed that the thermal cameras were the best but only under certain conditions. The only financial setback is that the thermal camera is pretty darn expensive and unfortunately not everyone in this field can afford one. The thermal camera still can be disputed by many paranormal investigators and skeptics.

Most likely it will be almost impossible to correct all the damages on a huge scale that tv producers and hosts have produced over the years. I like to think positive that every little bit helps with spreading the correct words. So remember, today's special word is "DATA" and when somebody says we have "EVIDENCE" please correct them by screaming "IT'S NOT EVIDENCE IT'S DATA". If we work together as a team we can all make a difference faster.
